Examining the "liberal media" claim

An older-- but still highly interesting and certainly useful-- article debunking the oft-repeated notion that journalists are more liberal than average americans and that this is somehow reflected in news coverage.
For those who already know that the "liberal media" is just a bogeyman conjured up by conservatives to strenghthen their positions, this article may be a be a bit dry... but for those who actually DO believe in a liberal media, this is a must-read. No rhetoric, no appeals to anger or other emotions-- just facts. The conclusion of the piece in particular is very good.
On top of this, www.fair.org in general is a great resource. The people at Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting have been doing good work for years. Take a minute to browse through their archives and you won't be disappointed.
